The Peterborough Historical Society Heritage Award. The George A. Cox Award for historical restoration and preservation of Peterborough properties was presented to Randall T. Mather and R & M Smith Contracting for the restoration of the Coach House of the former William Hamilton House in 2005.

In January of 2004, R & M Smith Contracting was presented with an award of excellence from the people at Logix. There innovative use of the logix product has put them in a special class of constructors, Once again, R & M has pushed the envelope with the Logix wall system. This new wall system application will open up new territory for other contractors to follow.
